(Media, PA) – Speros John Kokonos, Esquire, who has focused his distinguished legal career handling complex insurance defense litigation, has joined the law firm Gibley and McWilliams, PC. Prior to joining Gibley and McWilliams, he was a partner of Kokonos and Associates, based in Media, PA and Mount Laurel, NJ, leading that firm for 15 years.
Mr. Kokonos’ legal practice was preceded by eight years experience working as a machinist and a machine shop representative. His industrial experience serves to complement his legal representation of commercial manufacturers and insureds in diverse matters, including products liability, copyright, contracts and sales involving specially-manufactured goods.

With this new association, Mr. Kokonos continues his work in insurance defense litigation matters that include construction, commercial carriers, automobile, and commercial general liability.
Mr. Kokonos has successfully litigated insurance and commercial disputes in the State Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member in good standing with the Luzerne County Bar Association.
A resident of Nether Providence Township, PA, he has been a Volunteer Firefighter with the South Media Fire Company since 2001 and currently serves as Chief of Fire Operations and as a Member of its Board of Directors. In 2003, 2004 and 2006, Mr. Kokonos was honored as Firefighter of the Year. He earned his BA degree at Villanova University in 1991, graduating first in his class, Suma Cum Laude. He also maintained a 4.0 G.P.A and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. He earned his law degree at Villanova University School of Law in 1994 and was a Semi-Finalist in the Theodore Reimel Moot Court Competition.
